Speak to your landlord about any changes of circumstances. For example, if you cannot afford the latest rent payment because you have not received your housing benefit, then inform the landlord of this and make sure that you let them know about any dealings which you have with the council’s housing benefit department.
You may be able to come to an arrangement with your landlord to pay back your rent arrears on top of your subsequent rent payments, doing this should help stop eviction.
If you haven't been taking good care of the property then your landlord will naturally want to evict you.
If your home has been damaged in some way then you could offer to repair the damage or pay for the cost of getting it fixed. If you have neglected your home as you are unable to look after the property due to health reasons, then explain this to your landlord or contact your council's social services department, who can carry out a personal assessment of your needs and arrange for additional help if required.
